The multi-car crash was reported near 512 and Brodhead Road in Hanover Township around 5 p.m., according to the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company, which arrived about a minute after dispatch.

Crew members confirmed upon arrival that two people were stuck inside one overturned vehicle while the other vehicle’s engine compartment had caught fire, authorities said.

Lower Nazareth’s rescue truck 5341 was requested to the scene while other crew members doused the engine compartment blaze.

Meanwhile, the overturned vehicle was stabilized with help from Engine 1511 and Rescue 1541 before crew members initiated a complete roof removal to complete the extrication.

“All of this was done in 26 minutes from the time the rescue arrived on scene,” said the HTVFC.

The victims were taken to a local trauma center, according to an on-scene report from Nester Video Production.

Crew members remained at the crash scene to assist with traffic control until the investigation completed for the day around 9 p.m.

Assisting agencies include Hanover Township Public Works, Hecktown Fire, Bethlehem Township EMS, and Penn-Dot.
